Rock Me Mama and Classical

The first blog post containing music is here [five minutes after the first post on the blog. Haha!] Anyway, I thought I would start with good old 'classical' music but there has been a certain song stuck in my head all day. And that would be:

Old Crow Medicine Show- Wagon Wheel

This song is very, very catchy. I didn't put the actual music video because I'm afraid it contains a few poorly dressed girls that I didn't really wish to share. This song brings back some pretty good memories of my stepping out of my comfort zone and trying, although I failed, sort of, to excel. Good time, good time.

Lyrics:
Headed down south to the land of the pinesI'm thumbin' my way into North Caroline
Starin’ up the road
And pray to God I see headlights
I made it down the coast in seventeen hours
Pickin’ me a bouquet of dogwood flowers
And I'm a hopin’ for Raleigh
I can see my baby tonight
Chorus:So rock me mama like a wagon wheel
Rock me mama anyway you feel
Hey mama rock me
Rock me mama like the wind and the rain
Rock me mama like a south-bound train
Hey mama rock me
Runnin' from the cold up in New EnglandI was born to be a fiddler in an old-time string band
My baby plays the guitar
I pick a banjo now
Oh, the North country winters keep a gettin’ me now
Lost my money playin’ poker so I had to up and leave
But I ain’t a turnin’ back
To livin’ that old life no more
(Chorus)Walkin' to the south out of RoanokeI caught a trucker out of Philly
Had a nice long toke
But he's a headed west from the Cumberland Gap
To Johnson City, Tennessee
And I gotta get a move on fit for the sun
I hear my baby callin’ my name
And I know that she's the only one
And if I die in Raleigh
At least I will die free
(Chorus)

Now to the 'classical' music, in a sense. I'll start with one song that makes me want to smile every time I hear it.

Mischa Maisky- Bach's Prelude Suite No. 1

Next, an eerie song that expires me to write! I usually come up with something totally creepy--but at least I'm writing, right?

Ludwig Beethoven- Moonlight Sonata

And the final one for this post:

Pachelbel's Canon

I hope you enjoy the classical and the non-classical. :]

I'm also sorry if any of the videos didn't turn out right--my computer was causing me so problems.
